And So It Begins

You're booked- Save the Date

Everything has a beginning. Whether good or bad, everything has to start somewhere. For wedding planning, it all starts with a Save the Date.

There are, of course, things that lead up to this: the social media announcement, the choosing of a date, the finding a venue, the guest list, the engagement pictures. But the first tangible thing that gets sent out to those who have made the (dreaded) cut on the guest list is the Save the Date.

Some couples may choose not to do a Save the Date because understandably it is an extra cost. And it is more of a modern tradition for weddings from what I understand. Why we chose to send one out was because we saw it as sort of the announcement for those who are either not on social media or who we don't interact with on social media or on a regular basis.

There are so many ideas out there for Save the Dates. Since I have always loved books and reading, I thought a bookmark was a cute idea. Throughout our entire wedding planning we tried

to make things that reflected us. We wanted to have that personal touch in all that we did not only the day of but also everything leading up to it.

So, a bookmark it was. And since I had designed invitations for friends before, I thought I would try my hand at our Save the Dates. With Nate's help tweaking the design and giving me his thoughts, we were able to come up with something that was simple, yet still us. We included all the pertinent information, a cute little saying, and a couple of our engagement pictures. And we included our website on the back of the bookmark so people could go check it out. We were pretty pleased with our final result.
